Windows 10/11 family account and other user - difference?

1.) The Windows family account! 

For the "Windows 10 Family Account" you will be asked whether you are adding a child or an adult. Subordinate accounts can add permissions to, or remove them from their account, e.g. B. which apps they can use and how long they can spend on a PC. Adults who manage a child account can also see all of the child's activity on Windows by signing into the Microsoft Accounts website. If this seems excessive to you, a child account may not be the best choice. You should use a local account tied to a Microsoft account instead.

Adult accounts, on the other hand, are just normal private user accounts. In turn, you are tied to a Microsoft account. PS: You can also create a local adult account but have normal permissions and access to all apps on a desktop PC. Adult accounts can manage child accounts, but do not have administrative rights to make changes on the PC. However, this can be added later.

2.) Another person account with Windows 10! 

Same accounts as adult accounts, only different "Other People" window. A window will appear as in the previous process. Now, however, you are no longer asked to distinguish between children and adults. Instead, just enter the new user's email address and click Next. Then you can get started. The new account is now set up. Note that this user must connect to the Internet for the first time when they log on to the PC.
